A Lovely Beginning

Art on Scarves was born from a rather whimsical twist of fate. Lucy Hay, our founder and creative heart, grew up in North Wales believing she had no artistic talent at all. Her art teacher told her as much! For years, Lucy avoided anything remotely creative, convinced that art was for someone else. But sometimes, the loveliest stories start with a little doubt and a lot of curiosity.

Rediscovering Creativity

One day, Lucy decided to give creativity another chance. She enrolled in a morning drawing and painting class intended for “bored housewives”and there, something magical happened. With every brushstroke, Lucy rediscovered a part of herself she thought she’d lost.

The class was filled with laughter, encouragement, and that special spark that comes from trying something new. Before long, Art on Scarves fluttered into life.

Lucy’s designs are inspired by the enchanting landscapes and wildlife of the British countryside.

Each scarf becomes a canvas for her imagination handprinted, unique, and filled with a sense of gentle wonder. We believe accessories should be more than just beautiful; they should feel timeless, chic, and a little bit magical. Our scarves are made to be cherished for years, becoming part of your story as much as they are part of ours.

Whether you’re treating yourself or searching for the perfect gift, each Art on Scarves piece is designed to bring joy, confidence, and a sprinkle of everyday elegance into your life.

New Our Story

From Bottle to Beautiful: The Story of Our Eco Scarves

It all begins with a handful of plastic bottles that might have ended up as waste. In our North Wales studio, we see the potential for something lovely. These bottles are cleaned, transformed into soft yarn, and then become the fabric for our signature recycled scarves.

Each scarf is printed with original designs inspired by the British countryside and is hand-finished with care. When you choose one of our recycled bottle scarves, you are wearing something chic and timeless, while also helping to give new life to what was once discarded. It is a small but meaningful way to support British artistry and make a gentle choice for the planet.

A story of transformation, woven into every scarf and ready to be cherished.
